Just not that into you.

Welcome to the Chief Engagement Officer, a blog that explores Human Resources and Employee Engagement issues in the modern workplace.

A Kelly Services survey discovered that only 44 percent of the global workforce feels valued by their employer.  This is troubling. Worse is that 66 percent will be looking for a new job with another company in the next year. Like a relationship that has run it’s course, your employees are considering dumping you and finding a better match.

Remember your employees in the early days of workplace courtship? Looking good on paper through the delivery of a crisp resume, the love-at-first-sight first impression, the great connection throughout long interviews…. Remember feeling butterflies at the exciting promise that you had found “the one”?

This is the same employee who is now saying “we need to talk” because they’ve met someone new. Where did it all go wrong? At some point, you might have stopped appreciating the little things. Stopped listening. Stopped valuing their contributions. Stopped caring about their interests, dreams and goals.

The CEO wants to know why your people are just not that into you. What are you doing about it?
